The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), successfully hosted the FKTK Excellence Awards 2024 in conjunction with the Closing Ceremony of FKTK Fitness & Patriotism Month 2025. The event was filled with energy, appreciation, and unity among faculty members.
The ceremony served as a platform to celebrate the achievements and dedication of the FKTK community. A total of 83 staff members were recognized for their outstanding performance and contributions throughout the year, while 11 students received the FKTK Excellence Award (Student Category) 2024 for their academic and co-curricular excellence.
In addition, the Red House was crowned Faculty Champion, earning the highest cumulative score across six sporting events held during the month-long Fitness & Patriotism activities.
This celebration not only honored excellence but also reinforced teamwork, wellness, and love for the nation — key values that define the FKTK spirit.
Heartfelt appreciation goes to the organizing committee for their hard work and dedication in making the event a success. Congratulations to all award recipients and to the entire FKTK family for their continuous pursuit of excellence!

The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK) officially welcomed a total of 217 new undergraduate students for the 2025/2026 academic session in a welcoming ceremony held at UniMAP’s Lecture Hall, Pauh Putra.
The event was graced by the Heads of Department from Materials and Chemical Engineering, together with academic and administrative staff of FKTK, who extended a warm reception to the new cohort.
During the session, students were introduced to the faculty’s programs, academic support services, and campus facilities, while also being encouraged to embrace UniMAP’s culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation. The engagement highlighted the commitment of FKTK to nurture well-rounded graduates equipped with technical expertise and strong values.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity for students to connect with faculty members and peers, laying the foundation for a vibrant and supportive learning community.

A total of 103 staff members from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), UniMAP, actively participated in the World Cleanup Day 2025 program held at Kurung Tengar Beach, Kuala Perlis.
Throughout the initiative, participants worked hand-in-hand to clean up the coastal area, successfully collecting waste materials while fostering greater environmental awareness. This annual program aims to:
- Promote sustainable practices in preserving coastal ecosystems.
- Cultivate civic responsibility among participants.
- Raise awareness on the importance of reducing pollution and protecting marine biodiversity.
- Support UniMAP’s commitment towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The program not only enhanced the environmental quality of the coastal area but also strengthened teamwork and community spirit among FKTK staff.

The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK) was featured in a special live interview session on UniMAPINFO, the official TikTok platform of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). The session was organised by the Promotion and Marketing Department (PMD) as part of its efforts to promote academic programmes to a wider audience.
The Dean of FKTK, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Firdaus Omar, was invited as the guest to highlight FKTK’s newly introduced programme, Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours (Materials and Metallurgy Technology) – UR6521007. He shared insights on the programme’s relevance to industry demands and the career opportunities it offers to prospective students.
Also joining the session was Dr. Syarifah Nuraqmar Syed Mahamud, Programme Chairperson of Polymer Engineering, who further elaborated on the academic strengths and uniqueness of the faculty’s offerings.
