    Fees / Entry requirement

Graduates of the Diploma in Polymer Engineering Technology have wide career opportunities in both the private and public sectors. They are qualified to work as assistant engineers, polymer technologists, or technical personnel in industries such as plastics manufacturing, rubber processing, petrochemicals, packaging, automotive components, electronics, and consumer products. Their roles may involve polymer processing, product development, material testing, quality control, production supervision, recycling and sustainability initiatives, as well as maintenance of processing equipment such as extrusion, injection moulding, and blow moulding systems.

Among the key industry players related to this program are Petronas, Top Glove, Hartalega, Lotte Chemical Titan, Polyplastics Asia Pacific, Dynea, Toray Industries and BASF.

In the public sector, graduates may serve in government departments, statutory bodies, and research institutions related to materials, standards, environment, and industrial development. They may also contribute to sustainability initiatives, particularly in plastic waste management and recycling technologies.

Apart from entering the workforce, graduates have the opportunity to further their studies at the bachelor’s degree level in Polymer Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields at universities locally and internationally.
