The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), continues to strengthen its internationalisation efforts through a month-long student exchange programme at Walailak University (WU), Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, under the existing WalailakâUniMAP Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The exchange programme provides FKTK students with valuable exposure to environmental sustainability through the Environmental Conservation and Global Warming course, complemented by hands-on activities such as a biochar workshop using mangosteen waste. The experience introduces students to practical approaches in biomass utilisation and sustainable environmental practices.
Beyond academic learning, the programme brings FKTK students together with their counterparts at Walailak University, fostering cross-cultural interaction, knowledge exchange, and meaningful international connections. The four-week experience offers students valuable exposure to a different academic environment while strengthening their confidence, adaptability, and global competencies.
Through this international exchange, FKTK continues to provide students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, experience different academic and cultural environments, and develop the global outlook and sustainability mindset needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
