The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), through its Centre of Excellence for Biomass Utilization (CoEBU), welcomed an official delegation from Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn. Bhd. (KEV), a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), in a strategic engagement focused on sustainable energy innovation.
The visit highlighted FKTK–CoEBU’s advanced research capabilities in biomass utilization, including high-impact laboratory facilities and ongoing work in biomass-to-bioenergy and sustainable products. Strategic discussions explored potential industry–academia collaborations with strong commercial and environmental relevance.
A key outcome of the engagement was KEV’s expression of interest to participate as a co-organiser for the International Conference on Biomass Utilization and Sustainable Energy (ICoBiomasSE 2026), scheduled to be held in Penang.
This collaboration further positions FKTK and CoEBU as key contributors to Malaysia’s green energy ecosystem, reinforcing UniMAP’s role in driving sustainable and industry-relevant research at national and international levels.
