The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), successfully organised an E-Waste Collection Day at Kompleks Pusat Pengajian Jejawi 2, Taman Muhibbah, as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable practices within the faculty community.
The three-hour programme was jointly initiated by the SULAM academic team from the Department of Materials Engineering and researchers under a Social Research Grant, led by Dr Nor Azwin binti Ahad, in collaboration with Key Master Enterprise, Seriab, Perlis.
The initiative successfully collected 120 units of electronic waste, including televisions, air conditioners, laptops, electrical appliances, mobile phones, and electrical cables. The programme aimed to raise awareness among FKTK staff on the importance of responsible e-waste recycling in reducing environmental pollution and safeguarding public health.
This initiative reflects FKTK’s continuous efforts in cultivating a strong sustainability culture within the faculty, in line with UniMAP’s commitment towards environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
