Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and Umpan Jaya Sdn. Bhd. has officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to collaborate on an innovative project titled "Resolve Leachate by using Mobile Microbial Fuel Cell with Sewage Activated Sludge at Rimba Mas Sanitary Landfill." The agreement, signed at UniMAP’s main campus, marks a significant step forward in environmental research and sustainable waste management practices.
Prof. Dato' Ts. Dr. Zaliman Sauli, the Vice Chancellor of UniMAP, and Mr. Jaafar Sadeq Dato’ Mohd. Noordin, the Director of Umpan Jaya Sdn. Bhd., were present at the signing ceremony. The project titled “Resolve Leachate by Using Mobile Microbial Fuel Cell with Sewage Activated Sludge at Rimba Mas Sanitary Landfill” will be led by Dr. Mismisuraya Meor Ahmad from Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technologi (FKTK), UniMAP.
The MoA paves the way for future projects that blend academic research with practical industry applications. This partnership is expected to yield significant advancements in sustainable waste management, benefiting both the environment and the community.
