The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK) once again showcased its research and innovation excellence at International Innovation & Invention Competition Through Exhibition (ICOMPEX) 2025, bringing home a series of prestigious awards across various categories.
Among the highlights, the project Dual Functionalized Dolomite Nanoparticles – Revealing the Potential of Perlis Dolomite for Biomedical Application won Best Innovation (Class B: Construction & Materials), the Special Award for Intellectual Property, and a Gold Medal. Another innovative product, ClayNova EcoBag, also secured a Gold Medal.
In addition, several other projects successfully earned Silver Medals, including EcoPiSa Sheet, Bioguard Sustainable Tree Shelter Guard, Hypercool AZ91-CNT Engine Composite, Boosted Strength Zn-Mg Composites, GlowHerb AI-Enhanced Face Mask, and ECOJAC MB.
Overall, FKTK achieved 2 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals, and 2 Special Awards, a proud testament to the faculty’s continuous efforts in advancing impactful innovations.

The UniMAP 2025 Northern Chapter Alumni Gathering took place in a lively and celebratory atmosphere, bringing together former students from various faculties. The event, organized by the UniMAP Alumni Relations Centre, served as a platform to reconnect, share experiences, and recognise outstanding alumni contributions.

The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK) extends a warm welcome to 156 new students enrolled in the Diploma in Materials Engineering programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The latest intake continues to reflect a positive upward trend in enrolment numbers for the diploma programme, showcasing the growing interest and confidence in the academic offerings at FKTK.
The successful orientation session was made possible through the dedicated efforts of faculty members and support teams involved in the Minggu Suai Kenal (MSK) activities. Their commitment ensured a smooth transition for the new students as they embark on their academic journey at UniMAP.

“Small Changes, Big Impact”
The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK) remains steadfast in its commitment to environmental sustainability through the development of its very own Sustainability Corner — Laman Lestari.
This initiative incorporates key elements of sustainable development, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), education, recycling, energy, water conservation, and greenery.
Among the highlights of the initiative are creative reuse practices where materials such as used bottle caps, wooden pallets, cardboard boxes, and repurposed containers are transformed into both decorative and functional features across faculty spaces. These efforts not only enhance the working environment aesthetically but also promote sustainability awareness among staff and students, particularly the importance of reducing waste.
This green initiative reflects FKTK’s proactive step towards cultivating an eco-friendly, mindful, and conducive work culture — in line with UniMAP’s aspiration of becoming a sustainable campus.

The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), is proud to announce its outstanding achievements in the 2024 Graduate Employability (GE) Award.
Thanks to the collective efforts of all faculty members, staff, and partners—both directly and indirectly involved—FKTK has successfully recorded remarkable accomplishments:
- 1st Place – Highest overall graduate employability percentage
- 2nd Place – Second highest percentage of graduates employed in their field of study
- 2nd Place – Second highest percentage of graduates earning premium income
