The Polymer Engineering Program, Materials Department, Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK) at UniMAP, successfully organized the International Symposium on Polymeric Materials 2024 (ISPM2024). This prestigious event was a collaborative effort with The Plastics and Rubber Institute Malaysia (PRIM) and various local universities, bringing together experts, researchers, and students to discuss the latest advancements in polymeric materials.
The symposium saw the participation of 33 attendees from various institutions. It provided a unique platform for participants to meet, engage, and exchange ideas and experiences in the latest research and development in polymeric materials. Topics covered included new research findings in polymeric materials, polymer composites, rubber technology, and other related areas.
The event was officiated by the Vice Chancellor of UniMAP, adding a significant level of prestige and recognition to the symposium. Renowned experts, researchers, practitioners, and postgraduate students presented their work, highlighting cutting-edge developments and innovations in the field. The event facilitated meaningful discussions and networking opportunities, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among participants.
In addition to the symposium sessions, participants were treated to a tour of the Harum Manis Farm and the scenic sights of Perlis, providing them with an enriching cultural experience alongside their academic engagement.

Dr. Muhammad Faiq and Ts. Ahmad Radi from Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology UniMAP conducted a successful promotional program for recent SPM graduates at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Mata Ayer, Perlis.
The event aimed to provide insights and information about the Chemical Engineering program at UniMAP, encouraging students to consider this field for their future studies. Representatives from UiTM Arau, Institut Latihan Perindustrian, Institut Kemahiran MARA, Kolej Komuniti, and Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara also participated in the program, showcasing a variety of educational pathways available to the students.
We look forward to seeing many of these bright young minds join us at UniMAP for their undergraduate studies in the future. Let's embark on a journey in engineering together!

A group of third and fourth-year students from the Chemical Engineering Program, specializing in Sustainable Energy and Fuel Cell elective courses, recently participated in an industrial visit to Next Generation Oil Sdn Bhd. The visit was guided by Dr. Hafiza and Dr. Mismisuraya.
The primary objective of this visit was to expose students to the cultivation process involving microalgae and its application in producing various products, particularly biofuel. This hands-on experience aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the direction of the renewable energy industry in Malaysia, highlighting the potential of microalgae as a high-potential green carbon source.
We hope this visit has equipped our students with the knowledge and inspiration to pursue advancements in renewable energy sources, especially through the innovative use of microalgae.

The Beyond Glory Championship, organized by the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology (FKTK) Student Association, successfully hosted a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament over two days at Kolej Kediaman Tan Sri Aishah Ghani, Wang Ulu.
The event aimed to highlight the e-sports talents of FKTK students, tapping into the growing trend of competitive gaming. The championship also welcomed the President of UniMAP’s E-Sports Association, adding further prestige to the event.
Dr. Azduwin Khasri, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni (HEPA) at FKTK, presented awards to the winners, acknowledging their skills and dedication.
Congratulations to all the winners and a heartfelt thank you to the organizers for their hard work and commitment.

The Majlis Anugerah Gemilang Siswa (MAGES 2024) for Semester 1 of the 2023/2024 academic session was successfully held, celebrating the achievements of 453 students who received the Dean's Award. In addition, the ceremony also honored students with the Special HEPA Award for their active contributions to the faculty and the Academic Hope Award for each program.
The awards were presented by the esteemed Dean of FKTK, Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Firdaus Omar, along with the Deputy Deans, Heads of Department, and Exco members. This grand event aimed to motivate students to continue excelling, both academically and in extracurricular activities.
Congratulations to all award recipients, and may this recognition inspire all students to strive for excellence. A special thanks to the Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology Student Association for organizing this prestigious event.
