The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), UniMAP, performed outstandingly well at the 2025 Inter-Faculty Cultural Festival (FESTKAF 2025), which concluded last night after three ernegetic days of cultural celebration.
FKTK was named as being the recipient of the coveted Juara Madani Award, and also FKTK took home a championship trophy and a cash prize of RM1,000. This top honour recognizes the faculty’s excellence across various cultural performances and its embodiment of unity, creativity, and cultural appreciation.
In addition to the overall award, FKTK also secured several impressive wins in individual categories:
- Champion – Poetry Recital (Sayembara Puisi)
- 1st Runner-Up – Battle of the Band
- Best Costume – Traditional Malaysian Song Performance
- Special Jury Award – Dance Performance
- Best Poet – Individual Category
These achievements highlight the immense talent, teamwork, and dedication of FKTK’s student representatives. A total of 40 students participated in FESTKAF 2025, proudly showcasing their creativity and passion for cultural arts.
FKTK extends heartfelt appreciation to the FKTK Student Association, whose hard work and coordination ensured a successful and impactful participation in this year’s festival.

A total of 56 students and academic staff recently participated in an industrial visit from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), with an aim for improving of their comprehension of real-world chemical engineering applications.
The group consisted of thirty-one third-year students from the Industrial Chemical Process Technology Engineering program, 25 second-year students from the Polymer Engineering program, and 7 accompanying lecturers.
During the visit, students could observe firsthand how they produce PET bottles as well as HDPE bottle caps from end to end as to how they bottle as well as package mineral water comprehensively. The tour gave useful perceptions into current production methods. Quality control procedures in the beverage packaging industry were also gained.
FKTK is dedicated to the task of producing graduates who are ready for industry. Such industrial visits help achieve this through bridging theoretical knowledge and practical application. It backs the faculty's larger plan to work with industry plus allow students to learn more.

The Splash Run 2.0 program, organized by the Student Association of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), UniMAP, was held with great enthusiasm at Tan Sri Aishah Ghani Residential College @ Wang Ulu. The event attracted 350 participants, comprising students and staff, who completed a fun and energetic 6-kilometer run.
The event was officiated by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohamad Syahmie Mohamad Rasidi, Director of the Student Affairs Department (JHEP), UniMAP, accompanied by the Dean of FKTK and Deputy Dean (Student Affairs and Alumni).
Splash Run 2.0 aimed to encourage a healthy lifestyle among students through physical activity while also fostering interaction and camaraderie beyond the classroom setting.
FKTK extends sincere appreciation to the Residential College management for providing the venue, JHEP’s transportation unit, the Security Department, medical and technical teams, as well as the event sponsors who played a vital role in making this program a success.

As part of its ongoing outreach initiative, the Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), conducted a promotional session at Kolej Tingkatan 6 Kulim.
The session was attended by approximately 200 Form Six students, who were introduced to UniMAP and the academic pathways offered by FKTK. The briefing aimed to provide insights into the faculty’s programs, campus life, and career prospects in the field of chemical and materials engineering.
FKTK extends its sincere appreciation to the Program Coordinator and promotional team members who facilitated the session and ensured its success. Such engagements are vital in helping students make informed decisions for their higher education journey.
The faculty looks forward to welcoming future students from Kolej Tingkatan 6 Kulim to UniMAP.

The Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), continued its nationwide outreach efforts with a promotional visit to Kolej Tingkatan Enam Haji Zainul Abidin.
The FKTK promotional team conducted an engaging session aimed at introducing students to the academic opportunities and future career prospects offered by the faculty. The session focused on the various undergraduate programs, research strengths, and industry relevance of FKTK, as well as the advantages of pursuing tertiary education at UniMAP.
